Hello everyone! Here we present to you a blog specifically made to give you tips, but as a virtual big sister 🙌
First of all, drink vitamins! 💊This might sound really mom-ish, but It's the truth.
In fact, it's scientifically proven 🩺 in "Effects of Omega-3 Polyunsaturated Fatty Acids on Brain Functions: A Systematic Review" that omega-3 fish oil improves the function of the brain 🧠. Especially as a student, we lose quite a lot of sleep, sometimes don't eat well and don't keep our health in check 24/7, so consuming vitamins is one of the easiest way we maintain our health 🙆🏻♀️
Second, clean up and organise your study space! 🖥
Your workstation is a direct reflection of your brain. A cluttered, disorganised brain will lead you nowhere because you won't be able to focus on the task you're doing. That sucks btw, rotting for hours long on a single task just to achieve a portion of what you truly can get if you work productively. 🙇♀️
Third, watch *motivational* movies or tv shows! 🎫
Not to be overly emotional but some study movies actually do make an impact on your motivation to study. Although we cannot rely solely on motivation to drive us, having it will push us to work harder. Here, we will give you a few recommendations (don't worry it isn't those kinds of movies with cringe-y ted-talks really!):
Gilmore Girls 🙎♀️👧
Legally Blonde 🙋♀️
Law School 👩💼
Forth, plan your study schedule beforehand! 💭
Believe me when I say pre-planning your study grind is the key to success. It's like having the detailed step-by-step instructions on how to bake a cake. The question is, what type of plan guarantees the successful creation of your cake 🧁?
Plan your study day the night before. Right after closing your workstation for the day, pull out whatever means of planning you're using (paper and pen or on your laptop- in our case we used notion + journal) to create your to-do list 🔌.
Set aside three urgent tasks that must be done the next day. Then, set aside 3 other tasks that you have to do if time permits ⏰. Lastly, set aside 3 other tasks that can be something you want to do for yourself if there is time.
Find the study animal in you! Are you perhaps a morning bird 🦜 or night owl 🦉? Knowing what type you are helps you curate the best study plan: should you place the hardest tasks at night or morning? That depends on yourself.
Set aside gaps in your plan for any possible changes. Life is unexpected and so is your plan. This means in between the time blocking you've set aside, add 15 minutes 'break'. ⏳
Refine your to-do list as you get to know more about your study habits overtime.
Fifth, get enough sleep! 🛌
This one, I have to say, I'm very guilty of it because my sleep schedule has been put into shambles. So, before education can take away that sleep schedule your mom trained you to have as kids, hold onto it tight. Make sleep a priority. Coffee ☕️ can only help so much, studying while being sleepy is the cancer of studying. It grows. It ruins your productivity levels, your accuracy and your ability to concentrate. 😖
Sixth, don't get study buddies you can't properly study with. 🤝
Find your study soulmate. Someone who puts you at ease (has the same study preferences in terms of ambience), motivates you to study harder than ever and who you can be a mentor and mentee from. Don't study with someone who you're not comfortable with or is just trying to distract you! 🥶
